Ancient Seed

Ghost Rhythms, the simplicity of spiritual elevator music and an uncertain afterlife: a brief review of Ancient Seed.
by Angelo Prieto
If I were on the fast track to the afterlife (many think I am) either to the warm tropics of hell or the boring waiting room of heaven; I would want the soundtrack to include: “Tomorrow Never Knows” by The Beatles and “Ask Me” by Ancient Seed. This would provide the perfect sounds as I’m spiraling north or south.
The Seeds subtle and extended tones are slightly reminiscent of the post dark new wave sound. This speaks nicely for Don Klumker’s ongoing guitar explorations, where many who manage to pick up a guitar, learn a few chords and god help us, forms yet another punk band. Mr. Klumker has decided to throw on an oxygen mask, assemble a crew and take off into space. Their explorations to the great unknown has benefited us here on terra firma with a contradiction of sound, bass heavy deliberate structured arrangements and loose often brooding melodies that are perfect for exploring the milky way and beyond.

How can you absolutely love and respect the human race without on occasion daydreaming about carpet-bombing the Vegas strip? The answer is you cannot. If however you’re floating in space contemplating a supersonic blast through the ionosphere …then I recommend a little Ancient Seed to see you through the cloudbursts of ignorance and mainstream music…Ad nausuem!
A.P.
